A printable design is only useful when it reaches the right stock

Print Studio already had the important design work: place fields, bind vehicle information, and export a PDF. The next failure happened at the printer. A square label could be sent to the wrong queue, a long sticker could use the wrong stock, or a paper prompt could arrive after the user had lost track of what was being printed.

The new flow keeps the physical decision in the same action. The user chooses the installed printer, sees the trays and stock that printer reports, and confirms the paper before the job continues. That is a small interaction with a large payoff. The label on screen and the label in the tray now have a chance to agree.

The selected vehicle stays attached

The template can receive the selected vehicle instead of asking the employee to type the same details again. Current test formats include a 6 × 6 square label and a 4.25 × 11 sticker. The output intent carries the size, orientation, and copy count into the print preparation step.

LotPrint reads printer capabilities through opaque option identifiers. LotPro does not write Windows or printer defaults. It prepares one job, checks the selected ticket again, waits for paper confirmation, and reports the state of that job on the print control.

  • Vehicle-bound fields in the template
  • Exact-size square and long-sticker formats
  • Printer, tray, and stock selection before preparation
  • Paper confirmation and local job status

The current limit is part of the feature

This is a private preview that requires the local LotPrint agent and a compatible printer. Print Studio currently renders bounded JPEG pages in the browser for the local handoff. A signed PDF transfer and reconnectable job transport remain future work.

That boundary is worth saying plainly. The product can now test a real label path with a real queue, but it is not a claim that every printer, driver, paper size, or dealership setup is covered. Preview rollout should record the printer, agent version, paper, and result.
